IN BRIEF : Ex-Spurs Player Treated in Overdose
Former San Antonio Spurs star George (The Iceman) Gervin was treated at a hospital in a case that police investigated as a possible drug overdose, the San Antonio Light reported today.
The newspaper said an officer was sent to Methodist Hospital shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday to take information on an overdose reported by an employee in the hospital’s emergency room.
Hospital spokeswoman Barbara Williams said this morning that she did not know whether Gervin had been treated at the hospital Saturday.
The newspaper said, however, that according to a police report, Gervin told an officer who went to the hospital that he snorted what he “thought was cocaine” and later did not know what it was that he put up his nose.
