A Mira Mesa mother and her son who operated a foster day care center had five new felony charges added Tuesday--including child molestation--to seven other child-abuse charges.

Henri Dyson, 41, and her son Harold Dyson, 24, both pleaded not guilty to the amended complaint filed Tuesday by the San Diego County district attorney’s office.

A preliminary hearing, originally scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed until April 17 by San Diego Municipal Judge E. Mac Amos Jr.

The 12 counts allege that eight children were abused or endangered during their stay at the home. Two children are believed to have been molested, according to the new charges.

Some youngsters claim they were beaten and forced to sleep on thin mattresses or, in one case, in a bathtub. One 17-month-old boy allegedly suffered injuries from an enema.

Both defendants are free on bail previously posted.
