Rabbi Robert G. Bergman Dead at 67; Longtime County Religious Leader
Rabbi Robert G. Bergman, a longtime religious leader in Orange County, died of heart and kidney complications Saturday at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana. He was 67.
Bergman was founder and dean of Israel Academy of Irvine and had been associated with Temple Beth Sholom in Santa Ana. He also lectured at UC Irvine and Cal State Fullerton.
Bergman is survived by his wife, Penina; his sons David, Gabriel and Benny, and his daughter and son-in-law, Esther and Gershon Liberman.
A funeral will be held at noon Monday at Temple Beth Sholom in Santa Ana, according to family members.
