Burmeister Withdraws Fullerton Application
Texas San Antonio Coach Ken Burmeister, one of three candidates being interviewed for the Cal State Fullerton basketball coaching job, withdrew his application Saturday.
“Fullerton is a good job, and Ed Carroll is a great athletic director, but for Ken Burmeister, I like Texas San Antonio,” Burmeister told the San Antonio Light newspaper. “I like being here. Why should I move?”
Sources at Fullerton confirmed that Burmeister has withdrawn from consideration.
Burmeister, who was interviewed last Sunday, could not be reached to elaborate on his reasons for withdrawing.
UCLA assistant Paul Landreaux, who was interviewed Monday, said Saturday he remains a candidate.
