Local News in Brief : Anaheim : Victim of Fatal Shooting Had Just Attended Party
An Anaheim man with a gunshot wound to his head was found dead on a sidewalk in Stanton early Sunday, shortly after he had attended a party in the area, county sheriff’s spokesmen said.
David Wayne Hanuska, 27, was found about 12:45 a.m. on the south side of Katella Avenue, about 30 feet east of Cedar Street, Sgt. Steve Wesson said.
Deputies had been dispatched to the area after receiving a report of an “unknown type of disturbance,” he said.
Several bullet holes were found in a nearby building, Wesson said.
The victim had attended a party nearby earlier in the evening. Investigators are trying to determine whether “any connection exists,” he said.
An autopsy Sunday determined that Hanuska died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to a Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
