An AIDS benefit scheduled for June 8 at New York’s Radio City Music Hall will go on despite the booting of planned headliner Guns N’ Roses. The band was dropped from the show after the co-sponsoring Gay Men’s Health Crisis organization objected to an alledgedly anti-gay tone in the song “One in a Million.” Susan Blonde, spokeswoman for the “Rock and a Hard Place” concert said Tuesday that another “major act” would be announced as the new headliner soon, and that a full lineup--set to include at least one hard rock band to appeal to Guns N’ Roses fans--will be announced in a few weeks. As for the banned band, a statement from Geffen Records, the L.A. group’s label, said, “Guns N’ Roses still wish the GMHC every success with the event.”
