Driver Dies as Pickup Truck Hits I-5 Divider

California Highway Patrol officials Tuesday were investigating an accident that killed a driver who crashed into a center divider, authorities said.
Vanessa Hayes, 22, of the 1800 block of Avenida Flores in Encinitas, was southbound on Interstate 5 near Gilman Drive at 11:09 p.m. Monday when her pickup truck drifted into the divider and overturned, officials said. She was pinned in the truck and pronounced dead at the scene, the CHP said.
