In the GMC tournament third-place game:

Santana 11, El Cajon 3--Kyle Seback went three for three and stole three bases to lead Santana. Ferdie Hollis picked up the victory. El Cajon is 3-3.

Hilltop-Moose tournament

USDHS 7, Helix 6--Steve Walker hit an inside-the-park home run with two out in the bottom of the eighth to win it for USDHS (5-0). Jeff Desjardins (2-0) came on in the fourth and earned the victory.

Poway 2, El Capitan 1--El Capitan (2-3) scored in the top of the second, but host Poway (2-3) came back with two in the bottom. With one out, Poway’s Frank Wolinski walked and scored on Mike Beam’s double. Beam then scored on Chris McDermott’s infield single. John Uglow (1-1) got 10 ground outs while earning the victory.

Chula Vista 6, St. Augustine 2--Armando Navarro hit a bases-empty home run in the third inning for Chula Vista (2-3) in an error-filled game. St. Augustine had eight errors, and Chula Vista had six. Garrard Galvan (1-1) was the winning pitcher.

Mt. Carmel 16, Mission Bay 8--John Tejcek was four for four with four runs scored and two RBIs for Mt. Carmel (4-1), which scored nine runs in the top of the second. Tony Lennan hit a two-run homer in the fifth. Tom Lafever (0-1) took the loss for host Mission Bay (4-1).

Reyman-Pirate tournament

Torrey Pines 7, Grossmont 7--Three players hit home runs during Grossmont’s seven-run third inning, but it wasn’t enough. The game was called after seven innings because of darkness. John Tatum hit a two-run homer, Kent Smith a three-run homer and Jimmy Earley a bases-empty homer for Grossmont (3-1-1). Torrey Pines is 2-2-1.

El Camino 8, Temecula Valley 3--Scott Hertweck (1-1) earned the win and doubled home two runs, and Bobby Womble doubled home three for El Camino (1-3). Host Temecula Valley is 0-7.

Granite Hills 10, San Marcos 1--John Feen and Brian Giles hit homer to lead Granite Hills (4-1). Ryan D’Coyne, a sophomore, went the distance and struck out nine. San Marcos is 0-5.

San Pasqual 10, Rancho Buena Vista 8--Tony Medina hit a two-run homer in the fourth and a two-run homer in the sixth to lead San Pasqual (5-1). Mike Escarcega tied a CIF record of 12 consecutive hits, going three for five. In his third at-bat, he grounded out to second. San Pasqual took a 4-0 lead, but RBV (3-3) tied it in the sixth. Kevin Herde was three for three with three RBIs.

Fallbrook 20, Oceanside 6--Erik Larsen, a senior shortstop, went three for four and scored five runs for Fallbrook (4-1). Clint Miller (2-0) picked up the win. Dirk Fisher had a home run and five RBIs. Oceanside is 3-2.

Nonleague

Montgomery 13, Crawford 5--Martha Trimble was two for three with an RBI for host Montgomery (2-1). Julie Gonzales (2-1) was the winner. Montgomery collected 13 hits.
