Pacific 10 Officials Hurt Teams’ NCAA Chances
I realize that homer-itis isn’t restricted to Pac-10 officiating, but the refereeing in most other conferences is noticeably better.
One might argue that as horrible as Pac-10 officiating is, it evens out. That may be true during the season, but as the announcers for a recent locally televised Pac-10 game pointed out, a growing theory is that the Pac-10 officials do great damage with their quick whistles and uneven calls because when Pac-10 teams make the NCAA tournament, they are at a distinct disadvantage when faced with more normal officiating.
