Angela Burnham of Rio Mesa High and Inger Miller of Muir, first- and second-place finishers in the 100 meters at last year’s state championships, will meet in that event today during the Northridge-Alemany Relays at Cal State Northridge.

Burnham, the defending state champion in the 100 and 200 meters, won the 200 in 24.80 seconds in the National Scholastic Indoor Championships in Annapolis, Md., last Sunday and ran a nation-leading 11.84 in the 100 in the Spartan Relays at Rio Mesa two weeks ago. Miller has run a hand-timed 11.6 this season, which is the equivalent of Burnham’s fully automatic 11.84.

Bryan Dameworth of Agoura, Mike Williamson of Thousand Oaks and Morgan Bateman of Crescenta Valley will meet in the boys’ 1,500. Dameworth and Williamson also will compete in the 3,000.

Dameworth is the two-time defending state Division I cross-country champion; Williamson ran second in last year’s state championships. Bateman is the defending Southern Section 4-A Division champion in the 800 meters.

Hawthorne’s Curtis Conway, the state’s fastest returning sprinter, is favored in the boys’ 100. Crespi’s Russell White also will compete.

Conway placed second and third in the 100 and 200 at last year’s state meet; White finished eighth in the 200. White is also entered in the triple jump, an event in which he placed second in the 1987 state championships.
