The body of a heavily tattooed man was found Tuesday in bushes near the Osborne Street on-ramp to the northbound Golden State Freeway, Los Angeles police said.

Police were also trying to learn the identity of a shooting victim whose body was found near a railroad right of way in North Hollywood on Monday.

The man found along the freeway--who was about 25 years old, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and slightly built--appeared to have been struck on the upper torso, said Detective Albert Ferrand.

Ferrand said the man was killed “either at the hands of another or by a vehicle.”

The man had a depiction of the crucifixion of Christ, complete with figures of onlookers at the base of the cross, tattooed across most of his upper back, Ferrand said.

The man had brown hair, brown eyes and was wearing a white T-shirt and gray sweat pants, Ferrand said. The body had been in the bushes between 24 and 48 hours, police said.

The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has scheduled an autopsy.

Coroner’s investigators are also attempting to identify a man--who appeared to be between 25 and 35 years old--who died from a gunshot to the head Friday night or early Saturday, said Detective Paul Stewart. An employee of a nearby business discovered the body in an industrial area in the 12500 block of Raymer Street, near the Southern Pacific tracks, Stewart said.
