The just-completed San Francisco International Film Festival was the “most positively received” yet, says its artistic director, Peter Scarlet. This year 44,144 tickets were sold, up from last year’s 42,000. “I am gratified because the program, which has gotten riskier every year, gets even more public support and enthusiasm,” he said. In all, 79 programs during the March 8-19 filmfest were sellouts.
