Tracy Chapman, the Grateful Dead, Huey Lewis and the News and Los Lobos will appear at a May 27 show highlighting a weeklong series of AIDS benefit concerts around the San Francisco Bay Area. Organizer of the 10 “In Concert Against AIDS” events from May 21-28 is Tim McQuaid of California AIDS Education and Support Foundation. The other concerts will feature blues, black-tie, rap, hard rock, comedy, country, dance and Latin salsa, with headliners yet to be announced. Bill Graham Presents will produce the series, and lending support will be the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics and San Francisco 49ers. KRON-TV will produce a telethon and a documentary of the series.
