Marinaro Scores Three Goals to Lead Lazers, 7-2

Hector Marinaro had his seventh three-goal game, tops in the league this season, and added two assists to lead the Lazers to a 7-2 victory over the Kansas City Comets in their Major Indoor Soccer League game Friday night at the Forum.

The Lazers took command early, building a 4-0 lead midway through the second period.

David Doyle scored his 15th goal of the season to break the ice for Kansas City at 14:06 of the second quarter.

The Lazers’ Daryl Doran scored his first goal of the season at 13:30 of the first period and later added an assist. Teammate Gary Heale also had a goal and an assist.

Marinaro has 45 goals and 23 assists this season.

The victory moved the Lazers (19-21) into fourth place. The Comets dropped to fifth with a 17-20 record.
