College Baseball : Fullerton Limited to Four Hits in Florida State’s 10-0 Victory
Clyde Keller pitched a four-hit shutout as Florida State defeated Cal State Fullerton, 10-0, Sunday in a nonconference baseball game at Florida State.
Keller (3-0) dominated the Titans (18-9), holding them to their lowest hit total of the season. He allowed just one hit in the first five innings.
It was Keller’s second shutout of the season.
Florida State (23-9) took a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning, then added seven in the sixth to knock Fullerton starter Paul Johnson (2-4) out of the game.
Rex Peters went two for four for the Titans.
In another nonconference game:
Minnesota 9, UC Irvine 1--The Anteaters (8-14-1) were limited to three hits in a game that had to be moved to Loyola Marymount because of a wet field at Irvine. UC Irvine’s run came in the eighth, when Chris Dray doubled home Bill Bardens. Jeff Haack (1-3) took the loss.
