It may be hard to tell the stars from the stars on Wednesday’s telecast of the Academy Awards. In addition to the parade of Oscar nominees and presenters, you’ll also see 19 (count ‘em, 19!) celebrities in three 30-second Revlon commercials. Actress-director Penny Marshall directed the ads that feature a variety of well-known personages giving quick responses to the question: “What makes a woman unforgettable?” Carrie Fisher, Bernadette Peters, Sally Kellerman, Joan Rivers, Mariel Hemingway, Emma Samms, Grace Jones and Andrew McCarthy, Little Richard, Harry Dean Stanton, Frank Langella, quarterback Joe Montana and basketball coach Pat Riley are some of the faces seen in the replies.
