One of two San Diego men arrested last week and charged with the murder of two Mexican farm workers pleaded innocent. Dennis Bencivenga, 19, of San Diego, who entered the plea, and his friend, Kenneth Kovzelove, 17, were called “aspiring Rambos” by Deputy San Diego County Dist. Atty. A. David Stutz. Bencivenga told officers he did not initially think his friend would follow through on threats to kill some “Mexicans,” according to a police affidavit. Hilario Casteneda Salgao, and Matilde Macedo de la Sancha, both legal U.S. residents, were found shot to death near San Diego’s northern city limits.
