Building Limit Sought
An interim control ordinance, which may be a prototype, has been proposed to temporarily limit development in Northeast Los Angeles.
Planners are considering introducing such ordinances throughout the city to limit development while community plans are reviewed over the next 10 years. The proposal would allow development only when a project conforms with its neighborhood’s predominant density, scale and character.
City Councilman Richard Alatorre introduced the measure, which would restrict development in Mt. Washington, Highland Park, Eagle Rock, El Sereno, Monterey Hills, Lincoln Heights, Glassell Park and Atwater.
