It was beginning to look as if neither the Portland Trail Blazers nor the Dallas Mavericks wanted to win the West’s eighth playoff spot.

But, the Mavericks ended their 12-game losing streak Friday night and the Trail Blazers ended their six-game losing streak Saturday night at Charlotte.

Clyde Drexler’s three-point play with 73 seconds left in overtime put the Blazers ahead for good in a 125-121 victory over the Heat.

Drexler scored 36 points and Portland moved a game ahead of Dallas with 11 games left.

The Hornets sent the game into overtime when Robert Reid stole a pass and sank a three-point shot with 20 seconds left.

Sacramento 117, Utah 97--The Kings have their troubles on the road, but they are becoming tough at home. Thursday night they knocked off Phoenix, and in this game they built an early lead and held on to beat Utah, leader of the Midwest Division.
