Jeremy Lipton, who had three hits and scored three runs, tripled to start the rally. Kevin Johnson followed with a run-scoring double and Pat Fairly and Doug Johns each followed with run-scoring singles.

Shinya Sukuda pitched 1 1/3 innings in relief of Pete Dragaloski (4-2) to earn a save.

Moorpark 12, Oxnard 1--Steve Sisco and Greg Pearson hit back-to-back home runs as Moorpark scored seven runs in the fourth inning of a WSC game at Oxnard.

Sisco had three hits and four RBIs. Kris Kaelin, who leads the team with 32 RBIs, was four for four. As a team, Moorpark (18-9, 7-3) is batting .348.

Oxnard dropped to 14-10, 6-4 in conference play.

Compton 18, Mission 6--Steve Amendola hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning and was four for five with four RBIs as Compton crushed Mission in a Southern California Athletic Conference game.

Mike Vines added a double and a triple with three RBIs.

Southern California 11, Cal Lutheran 5--Devon Schutzler was three for four and Daren Cornell was two for five in a losing effort for Cal Lutheran in a Golden State Athletic Conference game in Costa Mesa.

Trailing, 5-2, Southern California scored five runs in the fifth inning and two in each of the sixth and seventh innings. Cal Lutheran (19-11, 9-3), which was limited to five hits, stranded nine baserunners.

SOFTBALL

Azusa Pacific 5-2, Cal Lutheran 4-5--Despite Leslie Stevens’ eight-strikeout performance, the Regals were unable to score in the final four innings of the first game and lost on a tiebreaker.

In the second game, Danielle Piotrowski doubled with the bases-loaded in the fourth inning two score two runs and put Cal Lutheran (17-12, 5-1) ahead for good.

DeeAndra Pilkington held Azusa Pacific (4-11, 2-4) to two hits and struck out four to earn the victory in the second game.
