Yokoshima Beats Ozaki by a Shot in Japan
Yoshikazu Yokoshima edged Naomichi Ozaki by one shot Sunday in the Pocari Sweat Open golf tournament, stopping Ozaki from posting his fourth victory of the season.
Yokoshima, who was tied with Ozaki and Nobumitsu Yuhara for the lead after the third round, shot a one-under-par 70 for a 274 total, while Ozaki finished at 275 after a round of 71.
Ozaki has won one Japan PGA tournament and two minor tournaments this season.
Yokoshima collected $69,000 for his victory and Ozaki earned $38,000.
Yuhara fired a 72 and tied for third at 276 with Noboru Sugai, who had a 66 on the 6,780-yard, par-71 Hakuryuko Country Club course.
American David Ishii shot a 72 for 282.
