Paul Page, a longtime broadcaster of the Indianapolis 500, was indicted by a federal grand jury on tax evasion charges. The 43-year-old Page, of Indianapolis, is accused of understating his income for the years 1982 through 1985 by a total of $103,609.35.
The understatement of earnings allowed Page to evade payment of $45,420.77 in federal income taxes, the indictment said. For the alleged offenses, Page could face five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
