Five-time middleweight boxing champion Sugar Ray Robinson died from blockage of the arteries, the Los Angeles County coroner said today.

A post-mortem examination determined that the boxer died from arteriosclerotic vascular disease, coroner’s spokesman Bob Dambacher said.

Robinson, 67, was stricken at his home Wednesday morning and taken by paramedics to Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 10 a.m. (Story, Part III, Page 1.)
