Three Los Angeles-area prep basketball standouts headed for UCLA lead a group of all-stars who will play the Soviet Union’s junior national team May 14 at UC Irvine’s Bren Center.

Tracy Murray of Glendora, who set state career and single-season scoring records this season, was named to the team along with Mitchell Butler of Oakwood Academy and Zan Mason of Westchester. All three have signed letters of intent with UCLA.

Rick Swanwick, The Times’ player of the year in Orange County, is also one of 17 players named to the team. Swanwick, a 6-foot-10 center, led Trabuco Hills High School to the State Division III championship game last month.
