Georgia Tech is making its home football games available for sponsorship by corporations at prices ranging from $75,000 to $175,000.

Under a program to be launched with the 1989 season, the team is inviting sponsors to pay $75,000 each to sponsor home games against Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, Western Carolina and Wake Forest; $100,000 for a Thanksgiving weekend game with Boston College and $175,000 for the season finale against cross-state rival Georgia.

“When you look at the money in corporate sponsorship, it’s absolutely unbelievable,” said Kevin Bryant, Tech’s director of marketing and promotions. Tech estimates that it would clear about $500,000 from the program if all the games are sold.

A game sponsor would receive 100 television spots and an undetermined number of radio spots; full-page advertising in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the school newspaper, game programs and media guides; the corporate logo on signs posted at the stadium for the game and on posters of the team; a corporate tent for catering; 15 executive suite seats, 250 priority seating tickets, 10 parking spaces and appearances by Tech cheerleaders and Buzz the mascot at promotions during the week before the game.
