Vacant Warehouse Gutted by Fire in South-Central L.A.
Fire roared through a city-owned vacant warehouse in South-Central Los Angeles early Saturday, collapsing walls and portions of the roof before nearly 100 firefighters brought it under control, authorities said.
The fire in the 250- by 500-foot warehouse at 3319 S. Alameda St. was reported at 1:41 a.m., Fire Department spokesman Greg Acevedo said. Nearly 100 firefighters battled the blaze for slightly more than an hour before it was extinguished at 2:42 a.m. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries battling the blaze, Capt. Randy Beaty said.
