Michigan State University quarterback Dan Enos and two other Spartans will miss the rest of spring practice after they were attacked by several men at a party.

Enos, expected to be the Spartans’ starting quarterback this fall, suffered a possible fracture to his left index finger after he, tight end Bob Fata and linebacker John McDougall were attacked by seven men while walking from a weekend party in East Lansing, MSU sports information director Ken Hoffman said. Fata received minor bruises and McDougall suffered a cut ear. Enos, a right-handed passer, also suffered a strained tendon on his left ring finger. The injuries should not affect the quarterback’s play this fall, MSU football Coach George Perles said.

No charges were filed because the seven men could not be identified, Hoffman said.
