NATION : Mild Quake Shakes Southerners

A moderate earthquake shook parts of Arkansas, Missouri, Kentucky and Tennessee today but there were no reports of damage or injury, U.S. government seismologists said.

The 4.7 quake occurred at 11:48 a.m. Its epicenter was 10 miles northeast of Blytheville, Ark., the U.S. Geological Survey said, in the New Madrid seismic zone. It was felt by residents of southeast Missouri, northeast Arkansas and western Kentucky and Tennessee.
