IN BRIEF : Boxer ‘Blood’ Green Stabbed in N.Y.
Heavyweight boxer Mitch (Blood) Green was listed in fair condition at the Queens Hospital Center this morning after being stabbed in the thigh, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Green, who brawled with heavyweight champion Mike Tyson on a New York street corner last summer, told hospital authorities he had been stabbed at 4:15 p.m. Monday at East 125th Street and Second Avenue in Manhattan.
Hospital officials, who called city police, reported that Green was stabbed “by a person unknown to him for an unknown reason” who then fled, said police spokesman Detective James Coleman.
