“Entertainment Tonight,” which has charted the industry news in Hollywood for the past eight years, makes some news of its own this week.
Come Friday at 7 p.m. on Channel 4, the syndicated series--which premiered Sept. 14, 1981--will celebrate its 2,000th show.
The half-hour telecast will include a series retrospective hosted by Bob Hope, a segment spotlighting people who appeared on “ET” before they became big stars, and a talk with Richard Chamberlain, the first celebrity interviewed on the show.
In addition, “Entertainment This Week” will devote its entire hour to show No. 2,000 next Sunday at 6 p.m. on Channel 4.
The weekday edition of “ET” is hosted by Mary Hart and John Tesh. Robb Weller and Leeza Gibbons emcee “Entertainment This Week.”
