Lady Matadors Fall in Tennis Nationals

The doubles team of Susie Izamarian and Allison Kincaid posted Cal State Northridge’s only victory Sunday as the Lady Matadors lost to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, 8-1, in an opening-round match at the NCAA Division II women’s tennis championships in St. Louis.

CSUN meets Clarion State in an elimination match this morning.

Kincaid, who will play in the individual tournament beginning Wednesday, joined Izamarian to beat Vicky Canter and Danicka Armstrong, 1-6, 7-6, 6-2. In Sunday’s singles, Canter downed Kincaid, 6-7, 7-6, 6-2.
