Cajun and Zydeco Music Festival Set

Queen Ida & the Bon Temps Zydeco Band and Michael Doucet & Beausoleil will headline the third annual Los Angeles Cajun and Zydeco Music-Dance-Food Festival on Memorial Day Weekend.
The event will take place at the Velodrome on the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson. Promoters of a competing festival held last year at the John Anson Ford Theatre are not repeating this year, eliminating the oddity of rival Cajun festivals on the same weekend.
The lineup for May 27 will include Beausoleil, C. J. Chenier & the Red Hot Louisiana Band, Dewey Balfa & Friends, Nathan & the Zydeco Cha-Chas (in their first Southland appearance), Danny Poullard & the California Cajun Orchestra, Wilfred Latour & the Zydeco Goodtime Aces and Joe Simien & His Country Boys.
Sunday’s bill features Queen Ida, Beausoleil, Balfa, Nathan, Poullard, the Louisiana Cajun Trio and the Crawfish Wranglers.
Music will run both days from noon to 7 p.m.
