A premature infant girl delivered by Cesarean section from a brain-dead teen-ager has died, hospital officials said in San Bernardino. An autopsy was scheduled today to determine what caused the five-pound girl’s death. The infant had been in critical condition since her birth Thursday and died at 9 p.m. Saturday, a spokeswoman for San Bernardino County Medical Center said. The mother, Tanya Rivera, 15, had been on life-support systems since she was shot in the head March 16 and died Friday. Her 16-year-old boyfriend, the father of the child, is suspected of shooting her, authorities said. Hospital spokeswoman Linda White said the baby suffered from hyaline membrane disease, a disorder of the lungs in premature newborns that severely hinders respiration.
