A memorial service to honor two Marine reservists killed in a weekend helicopter accident in Nevada will be held at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station chapel on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

Col. Dave Underwood, commander of the reserve unit stationed at El Toro, said the service would be held Saturday because it is the first day of the reserve’s monthly two-day meeting.

Sgt. Brenda L. Schroeder, 29, and Cpl. Lisa D. Tutt, 22, were killed Saturday when the CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopter in which they were passengers collided with another helicopter while flying in a tactical formation.

Five others were injured in the accident.

The reserve unit was participating in an exercise to test the combat readiness of the 4th Marine Aircraft Wing.

Another service to honor the two was held earlier at the Naval Air Station in Fallon, Nev.
