Surfing Continues at Oceanside Today
The second and third rounds of the $35,000 Oceanside Open start today with Cardiff’s Todd Martin, the 1986 Professional Surfing Assn. of America champion, and Justin Poston of San Diego in action at Harbor Beach’s north jetty.
The trial heats continue today, with the top 32 surfers competing Saturday. The finals are scheduled for Sunday.
Defending U.S. champion Mike Lambresi of Oceanside is one of the favorites for the $6,000 first prize. Lambresi is tied with Dino Andino of San Clemente in the overall ratings this season.
