Man Shot to Death Discovered in Car
Police found a bullet-riddled body of a man in the back of what they said was a suspicious-looking car that officers chased early Friday until it stopped and the occupants fled.
The victim was identified as Fernando Hucks, 21, whose address was unknown, Detective J. D. Furr said. Hucks may have been a member of a local gang, the detective said.
Two women and a man were questioned in the incident, Furr said.
When police tried to pull over the car in an alley in South-Central Los Angeles, it sped off and the officers pursued it a short distance until it stopped in an another alley. The two women and the man fled the vehicle but were apprehended a short time later, he said.
When police inspected the car, they found Hucks’ body in the back of the hatchback area, Furr said. He had been shot several times, Furr said.
