Alan Christian Wins Speedway Scratch Main

Alan Christian of Murrieta won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 3,123 in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa was second, Brad Oxley of San Clemente was third and Jim Sisemore of Woodland was fourth.

Billy Hamill of Monrovia won the eight-lap handicap main event. Jerry Hicks of Glen Avon was second, Sisemore was third, Christian was fourth and Oxley was fifth.
