VIDEO . . . WHAT’S NEW : ‘Land Before Time’ to Be Sold With a Slice of Pizza Advertising

MCA Home Video will release “The Land Before Time” at a bargain price--$24.95--on Sept. 14. The cassette will include a pizza-company commercial. Produced by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg and directed by Don Bluth (“An American Tail”), the story of five young dinosaurs’ quest for The Great Valley was a box-office hit last Christmas.

“I Love Lucy” episodes have been available by mail order before, but the most beloved TV series ever comes to video stores for the first time June 22. The first four volumes ($14.98 each) from CBS/Fox contain two episodes apiece, including some of the most famous--notably the one with William Holden.

If the Cannes Film Festival sensation “sex, lies and videotape” seems like a natural for future videocassette release to you, RCA/Columbia Home Video agrees: The company has already scooped up video rights to the winner of the fest’s Palm d’Or.

More $15 big-movies-on-tape are coming, this time from IVE, including “Rambo: First Blood Part II,” “Angel Heart” and “Extreme Prejudice.” The prices drop Aug. 10.

The expanded version of “The Wizard of Oz” will be released by MGM/UA Home Video on Aug. 15 for $24.95 (with a $5 rebate also available). Same price for the laser disc.
