After three years of producing the Tony Awards telecast, Don Mischer (executive producer) and David Goldberg (producer) have resigned. Goldberg said the resignation was a “difficult decision,” and Mischer said producing the Tonys has “been an honor . . . but other projects that have been in development have become a reality,” including a new half-hour comedy series for CBS titled “Normal Life.” The Tony telecasts have had only two producers since they began in 1967. Alexander Cohen produced the broadcast for 20 years, before being succeeded by Mischer.
