ON THE SIDELINES : Fine Expected on Batiste Gun Count

OAKLAND —
Toronto Blue Jays’ outfielder Kevin Batiste will plead no contest to a charge of having an unloaded gun in his luggage, according to his attorney.
Attorney Lincoln Mintz said Tuesday that he expects Batiste to be found guilty, fined $500 and placed on six months’ probation when the plea is entered July 18 in Oakland Municipal Court.
