Arts and entertainment reports from The Times, national and international news services and the nation's press

MCA Records has the top three records on the Bilboard magazine album chart: Fine Young Cannibals’ “The Raw and the Cooked,” Bobby Brown’s “Don’t Be Cruel” and Tom Petty’s “Full Moon Fever.” According to MCA, the feat marks the first time in more than a decade that one label has held the top three slots. Rapper L.L. Cool J’s “Walking With a Panther” album leaped to No. 15 in just two weeks. The other rap album rocketing up the chart is Kool Moe Dee’s “Knowledge is King” (No. 26). Projected as one of the summer’s biggies, the Jacksons’ “2300 Jackson Street,” which has had critical acclaim--is, so far, a bona fide bust, peaking nt No. 59. The “Ghostbusters II” sound track bolted up to No. 38, buoyed by the success of Bobby Brown’s single, “On Our Own.”

* Like everything else connected with “Batman,” fans can’t get enough of Prince’s album--which features some sound track songs. It zoomed onto the pop chart at No. 29.
