LOCAL : Woman Stabbed, Autopsy Shows
An autopsy on the decomposed body of a woman found in a vacant field in Pacoima determined that she had been stabbed to death, Los Angeles police said today.
The body was found by a security guard walking to work Sunday morning in a field off Osborne Street near the Hansen Dam Recreation Center, Detective Al Ferrand said. An autopsy was completed Thursday and medical examiners found multiple stab wounds, he said.
There are no suspects and investigators have been unable to identify the murder victim. She was described as a black woman, 20 to 35 years old, who was wearing a black jacket and a pink and black shirt with matching shorts.
Ferrand said detectives were unable to match her description with any reports of missing women. He said investigators suspect that the woman was killed in the field rather than dumped there.
