California Highway Patrol investigators were continuing to look Thursday for the driver of a tanker-trailer that struck a disabled vehicle on the Long Beach Freeway on June 20, seriously injuring a woman inside, CHP officials said.

Martha Gayle Finnemyhr, 50, had summoned a tow truck from an emergency call box near the Del Amo Boulevard exit and was waiting for help to come at about 4:45 a.m. when she was struck. A witness said that the tanker did not slow down and continued northbound onto the San Diego Freeway, according to CHP spokeswoman Leslie Lazo. Finnemyhr is still at Long Beach Memorial Hospital in stable condition with head trauma, facial fractures and lacerations. Anyone with information about the accident should contact the CHP at (213) 598-4414.
