Local News in Brief : Jetliner Lands Safely at Burbank Airport After Engine Failure
A USAir jetliner carrying 47 people on a flight from San Jose landed safely with one engine shut down at Burbank Airport on Friday, officials said.
Airport spokeswoman Elly Mixsell said the British Aerospace 146 lost pressure in one of its four engines as it neared Burbank Airport, and the pilot shut the troubled engine down. The plane landed without incident at 7:35 a.m. and no one was injured, Mixsell said.
The cause of the engine malfunction was not immediately determined.
