Meeting on Election of Library Trustees
An informational meeting for people interested in running for the Palos Verdes Library District Board of Trustees will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Peninsula Center Library, 650 Deep Valley Drive, Rolling Hills Estates. Two board seats held by Robin Hinchliffe and Janet Smith will be on the November ballot.
The five-member board governs the special library district, which operates a main library at Peninsula Center and two branches, the Malaga Cove Library in Palos Verdes Estates and the Miraleste Library in Rancho Palos Verdes. Trustees serve for four years, are not salaried and must live within the district, which includes the four Palos Verdes Peninsula cities.
The meeting will provide information on district history, how the library is funded and operated and responsibilities of trustees.
