Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a County Jail inmate Friday at Physicians & Surgeons Hospital.
Antonio Javall Franklin, a 25-year-old unemployed custodian who was convicted May 11 on narcotics charges, was admitted to the hospital Tuesday with an unspecified illness, the Sheriff’s Department reported. He died at 6:10 a.m. Friday.
The coroner’s office will conduct an autopsy.
When Franklin became ill earlier this week, he received a 60-day stay of his sentence, the Sheriff’s Department reported. He was to have been released Nov. 5.
