Peaceful, Legal

I found your coverage of the Operation Rescue blockade of the Poway clinic to be slanted toward the actions of the anti-abortion people (“130 Abortion Foes Arrested as Sides in Controversy Clash in Poway,” July 9).
While you reported at length about the 130 people who entered the clinic and were subsequently arrested for their illegal actions, you did not mention that approximately the same number of pro-choice activists picketed the Christian Fellowship Church in La Mesa, where the Operation Rescue people met the evening before.
The pro-choice demonstration of about 120 people was quiet, peaceful and legal. There was no confrontation. Operation Rescue people were allowed to enter the church without confronting any kind of barriers or even verbal harassment.
While blockades, criminal trespass and arrests make for scintillating news, it is equally important that your coverage include the activities of the pro-choice demonstrators, who made their views known peacefully and legally.
