Quayle in Long Beach for Wilson Fund-Raiser, Meeting of Governors
Vice President Dan Quayle, accompanied by his wife, Marilyn, and their children, arrived in Los Angeles on Sunday to attend the Western Governors’ Assn. annual meeting, which is being held in Long Beach.
Quayle will address the bipartisan group today and also participate in a round-table discussion with the governors before leaving for San Diego.
On Sunday, Quayle attended a reception for Sen. Pete Wilson (R-Calif.), who has announced plans to run for governor. The fund-raising event was held at a Long Beach aerospace testing firm.
The vice president also met with the 1989 U.S. Academic Decathlon championship team from Taft High School at a Beverly Hills restaurant.
Quayle will have breakfast this morning with a group of major Republican supporters before addressing the governors at the Long Beach Hyatt.
