The Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles, the group charged with disseminating the Southern California share of surplus funds from the 1984 Olympics, has announced a $150,000 grant to the 1991 Los Angeles Olympic Festival Organizing Committee.

The grant was given on the condition that the festival agree to sell the foundation discounted tickets for boys and girls to attend festival events.

The festival is an event staged annually in different cities around the country under the auspices of the U.S. Olympic Committee as a training competition for prospective Olympic athletes. About 4,000 Olympic hopefuls, as well as 900 coaches and officials, are expected to participate in the Los Angeles Festival from July 12-21, 1991.
