San Diego
A 69-year-old San Diego woman died Wednesday when her car veered into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle, according to the San Diego County coroner’s office.
Riwu Oyama was southbound in the 3300 block of Boyd Avenue when her car collided with a northbound car driven by Robin Piscatello, age unknown, of San Diego, said Deputy Coroner Ken Bell.
Oyama and Piscatello were taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where Oyama died at 3:35 p.m., Bell said. Piscatello was transferred to Kaiser Hospital where she was reported in good condition.
Oyama probably died of chest injuries, but an autopsy is pending, Bell said.
